LRAR CONTRACTOR
In 2018 the City of Portage was building a new low rate anerobic reactor (LRAR) as part of an upgrade to their wastewater processing system. We were the successful bidder on a separate civil works contract that was needed to support the new LRAR. This was a multi-million-dollar project with multiple scopes of work. These works included new yard piping c/w manholes, new mechanical and electrical works, upgraded connections for incoming industrial piping, new access roads and new fencing, to name a few. We began the project in May of 2018, working into the fall on the pipe work, with final completion of yard work and fencing in spring 2019. There were several challenges on the project as there always seems to be when working with existing underground piping. These included incomplete as-builts from previous jobs, meaning we had to react on the fly for materials needed to complete the work, coordinating our schedule with the LRAR contractor’s schedule, and coordinating large pipe connections with local wet industry shutdowns. Overall, it was a successful project and one we took pride in completing.
