E. F. Moon Construction Ltd. was founded in 1962 and is now a second generation company.

E.F. Moon Construction is a well-known, well respected company. We have a reputation of fairness when dealing with sub-contractors, clients, owners and consultants. We have won numerous outstanding project awards over the course of our history.

We are a COR certified company that takes the safety and well-being of our employees and the public seriously. Our safety program is constantly monitored and enforced. We take pride in running safe, efficient projects.

Ours is a diversified company offering heavy construction services ranging from excavation to demolition to underground utility installation, to name a few. Our home base is Portage la Prairie but we serve all of southern Manitoba.

In the past we have been involved in a number of major Manitoba projects including: the Kenaston Underpass in Winnipeg, the new James Richardson Airport terminal in Winnipeg, the Royal Plaza power centre in Portage la Prairie and a major lagoon expansion in Brandon.

MEET THE TEAM

Mark Moon

PRESIDENT / MANAGER OF OPERATIONS

I started working for the family business in 1986 while I was still in high school. In the beginning I only worked summers until my graduation in 1988. Soon after I began working full time. During these early years I was given every opportunity by my father to operate all types of heavy equipment. My personal favourite has and will always be an excavator. I still enjoy the rare chances I get to be the operator. I worked my way up to foreman and looked after jobs all over Manitoba. In 2007 with the retirement of my Dad and Uncle I was able to Co-Purchase the company with my now business partner Jack Meseyton. I have enjoyed the journey thus far and I hope I can carry on the legacy my Dad started over 50 years ago.

JACK MESEYTON

VICE PRESIDENT/CFO

Jack started in the construction industry in 1985 when he joined his father’s company. By 1992 he was a partner. In 2005 Jack completed the Civil CAD program at Red River College, graduating with honours in Municipal Engineering Technology. While the original plan was to return to the family business after college, circumstances changed and new offers were received. Jack accepted an offer to join E.F. Moon Construction Ltd. as part of a new ownership group. Jack received his Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) designation and his Gold Seal Certificate (GSC) in project management in 2006. Today Jack is a 50/50 partner in the company with Mark Moon. In his official capacity as Treasurer of the company Jack oversees all finances and the day to day operation of the office.
