CLIENT:
CITY OF PORTAGE
In May of 2020 we were low bidder to the City of Portage for the clean-out of their water treatment plant lime residual lagoon. This is the waste material left over after water from the Assiniboine River is processed through the water treatment plant to be used as drinking water for the City of Portage. The project included the excavation, loading and hauling of 36,000 tonnes of waste material to the regional landfill site on PR 227. The material is used as cover material at the landfill site. The project started in mid-August of 2020 and was completed in early October. The project featured an excavation crew of 3 to 4 pieces of machinery and a truck fleet of 15 trucks consisting of E. F . Moon trucks as well as private (hired) trucks. The project went as scheduled and was completed before the October 31 deadline the City had identified in the contract.
